The Aberdeen Society of Architects recognises the Tillydrone Housing Programme in two awards at this years Design Awards dinner.
Read more about the projectThe annual Aberdeen Society of Architects awards set out to raise the public profile of good quality architecture, creating a showcase for the profession and recognising quality design, all while demonstrating architectural skills and the contribution of projects to the built environment.
The 2025 awards saw the Tillydrone Affordable Housing project scoop both the ‘Design Award’ in the Housing category and the ‘Project of the Year’ award.

Tillydrone Affordable Housing has delivered seventy new homes, contributing to the acute need for affordable and adaptable homes within the city of Aberdeen, with a design approach that provides a unique vision for healthy, low energy urban social housing. Its sustainable dwellings promote wellness and sociability, supporting occupants to stay in their homes for longer, all while being cost efficient.
The true success of Tillydrone lies in its holistic approach to affordable, sustainable living for people as they age in their homes, delivered through a first-class design team who worked closely to navigate and realise the challenges of a tough brief.
These awards are the latest in a run of recognition for the new housing development, following its shortlisting for two Inside Housing awards in 2024 and the recent shortlisting for Unlock Net Zero Awards 2025.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this transformational project, and a special shout out to our guests for sharing a fantastic evening with us.
